Regarding 'Land of the Free', it's a land where the state legislatures of the 'Bible Belt' states, beholden to the religious right, have passed laws such as this to protect their constituents. Probably just another ploy to force the women to use the Real Thing, and keep the pregnancy rate up. Fortunately, you can move to a different state (I don't think that would be possible in the U.K.). Or just ignore the law, since the police usually have better things to do. Or you could buy the dildo from out of state, in a package marked as a "drink stirrer" or some other alternative use, and get it wrapped in a plain brown paper package and mailed to you. Then the US Postal Service does its job, where the word service is like when a bull services a cow. ;-) The latest cock-up (is that the right British work for it?) is where the federal gov't made it illegal for credit card companies to be used to pay online gambling casino debts. This has taken away something like half or more of the casinos' revenues. And also the beneficiaries of this law are the local casinos, which would have otherwise lost money to the online gambling. Seeing that there's a zillion dollars at stake, I'm predicting that they will eventually find a way around this law. Brits have no problem with online gambling, just pay taxes on it, that's all. But here in the US it's considered wire fraud. Personally, I'm glad to see the gov't do this, because I've seen how gambling can destroy a person and their loved ones. So much for my soapbox.
